Papay Gyro Nights 2012: MY PLAYGROUND / NOR NOISE / Far out – ORKA

This year we had three documentaries – MY PLAYGROUND / NOR NOISE / Far out – ORKA

MY PLAYGROUND by Kaspar Astrup Schröder

MY PLAYGROUND explores the way Parkour and Freerunning is changing the perception of urban space and how the spaces and buildings they are moving on are changing them.

“Far out” tells the story of how some people in Nordic
Rural Areas have managed to exploit the unique values you only can find if you look around at the place where you are

Meet the band ORKA from the Ferroe Islands who have reached the young people in European the metropolis with their modern and groundbreaking music played on self created instruments and recorded in a barn at farm where one of the band members grew up.

NOR NOISE by Tom Hovinbøle

Nor Noise is a documentary – or rather an interview film – about Noise music. Which is not music nor mere noise but something in between.

Through 12 interviews with 12 highly diverse artists within the Noise scene, answers are given to What is Noise? Where does it come from? How do you work with sounds as your main instrument? The relationship between Noise and popular culture is reflected upon, and Noise is put into a historical context spanning from the Futurists and up to todays laptop artists.
